What is Marble? How is it manufactured?
- Marble is imported in a raw block form which is procured from nature i.e., mining through the layers of the earth. Hence it cannot be manufactured. It is processed.
- From mineral to solid marble surface, it needs deep R&D, which include various steps to process a stone.
- Cutting (Slicing).
- Heating to Dry off extra water.
- Finishing and Polish.
Why 17 or 18mm? If the material is strong enough why not less like other competitors?
- As per the world’s quality standards all stones should be at least 17-18mm thick in order to perform best under all circumstances.
- We prefer 18mm thickness just to give those extra years of usage & longevity.
Bend Or Warp?
No, our slabs don’t Bend /Warp. We are committed to International standards & make sure are marble slabs are processed to perfection.
Can Marble surface be repaired if damaged or any breakage?
- Yes, marble once broken or damaged can be repaired to their original functionality.
- Dee Pearls Marble being very hard when compared to any other surface product, if installed & handled properly; breakage or damage is something you won’t have to worry about.
What is glossier, Marble or a Tile?
- What you see in Tile is not its own shine but a coating on its top surface which is polished to give you that temporary high gloss ultimately prone to scratches.
- Wherein our Marble surfaces being too hard; are polished with a different procedure/process altogether. Hence the gloss/polish on Marble stays for a very long period & shouldn’t be compared with any manufactured surface.
Discoloration & fading? What about Scratches?
- Marble are known for their scratch resistance, but if intentionally scratched; every surface has its limitations.
Dee Pearls Marble, comes with High-Quality and super luxury designs which are generally not available in other surfaces, this sets an engineered & other surfaces apart from Marble.
Does Marble surfaces retain stains? Like turmeric, oil, lemon juice & Vinegar.
- Most surfaces are not stain or scratch proof, as it totally depends upon the usage and fixture. If installed & treated well, marble have the best longevity when it comes to surfaces.
- For the lime, vinegar & turmeric; marble & all natural stones can retain stains & that is why we do not recommend usage/ installation of marble on kitchen counters & backsplashes. Use them for their core purpose; Floors & walls so you are good to go.
- As we all love the kids in our family, they innocently spill something or somehow stain the marble, we got you covered. We can help you maintain & keep your marble stain free with the help of servicing your precious surface as & when required on special request.
Is your marble strong/durable/breakable?
- We hand-pick each & every rock ourself & do not rely on agents or quarry owners like our competitors.
- It certainly is more durable than a regular tile and other natural stones which ensures our marble are strong and everlasting.
- Marble also handles extreme temperature changes with ease & are suitable for any indoor application.
What cleaning agents should be used for daily maintenance?
- Marble are usually installed with 0/Butt Joints which ensure no space between marble slabs resulting in no undulations which makes them easy to wipe clean with neat joints.
- Process to Cleaning & Disinfection : Simply wipe/mop with warm water and use mild cleaners/disinfectants if desired.
- Process to remove stains if any : Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol.
- Note: Using highly alkaline or acidic cleaners (Harpic, Phenyls etc.) will damage any surface.
Can it be used for wall cladding?
Yes, Marble are perfect for any indoor applications.
Can we use cement mortar for installation? Is it difficult to install?
Yes, it can be installed by the traditional method of using cement mortar but due to variation in natural binding agents we advise usage of proper chemicals/adhesives to make sure it is installed with precision & performs best.
Can Marble be used for Exterior purpose?
- No, we highly recommend it only for interior application only.
- Marble should not be installed in Sun-exposed areas as it may lose its polish.
- UV-exposure causes all similar products to lose its sheen inducing discoloration.
- We suggest using limestone & granites for exteriors.
How soon does the marble require re-polishing?
- We advise re-polishing marble surface after every 4-5 years of its life to ensure beauty at its best or depending upon the footfall/usage of that particular area.
Infact the marble stays new throughout its life due to re-polishing.
Can we get different finishes?
- Yes, 3 different finishes for flooring:
a. Polish Finish – High Gloss
b. Honed Finish – Zero Degree Gloss
c. Matte Finish – Suede Finish
- And 5 different finishes For Interior Wall Cladding:
a. Polish Finish – High Gloss
b. Honed Finish – Satin or Silk Finish
c. Matte Finish – Suede Finish
d. Leather Finish – Flat Grain Texture
e. Hydro-Wash – Veins are popped out to give stone a more rugged look (available on a few stones only)
What size is marble available in?
Marble comes in various slab sizes depending upon the block size & are usually much bigger than a Tile or engineered stones which results in less repetition of the character/natural patterns enhancing the aesthetics of the entire surface.
